The City of Urbana is accepting
applications for the position of Administrative Officer. This
position serves as chief of staff to the Mayor to coordinate day-to-day city
operations. Duties include assisting in overall planning and evaluation of
all programs to achieve the goals of the Mayor and City Council for smart
growth, sustainable economic development and the highest standards for city
operations. The ideal candidate must possess a high degree of personal
integrity and a record of problem solving, consensus building, innovation
and accomplishment in government. Master’s degree in public administration,
urban planning or related field, or equivalent combination of education and
experience, including five to seven years as director or assistant director
of a local government unit.
