Associate Planner
Portage County - Stevens Point, WI
Description of Duties:
The employee holding this position must be able to capably complete a
wide variety of professional planning tasks assigned by the Director.
For this reason, the employee must possess a diversified background of
planning education, training, and experience. The employee must also
be capable of completing projects under supervision of the Director.
This position requires a reasonably high level of independent work and
judgment, and the ability to work on several major projects at one
time. Major responsibilities and tasks include the preparation of
local assistance casework and long range planning documents for the
City of Stevens Point, and various local units of government,
including urban area plans, and advise and assist the general public
regarding planning and development. This position may serve as the
Director’s lead assigned planner to the City of Stevens Point Plan
Commission and Common Council and Village Boards and Plan Commissions
throughout the County. The Associate Planner reports directly to the
Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
 |
Bachelor's degree in urban and/or regional planning or acceptable
related field and a minimum of three years professional planning
experience in a public/private planning agency. A Master's degree
in urban and/or regional planning or acceptable field may be
substituted for one year of required experience. |

Knowledge of desktop GIS applications for planning and mapping
purposes. |

Ability to do public speaking and presentations to various sized
groups of people. |
 |
Must have a valid Driver’s License and access to an insured,
licensed, private vehicle. |

Salary: $23.00 - $25.56/hour |
