Planner
The
Mississippi River Regional Planning Commission (MRRPC) in La Crosse
Wisconsin is searching for an Economic Development Planner. The Planner will
be responsible for a variety of community and economic development related
activities, including but not limited to: writing and administering grant
applications, reviewing and underwriting business loans, administering
local, state and federal revolving loan funds, developing public-private
funding alternatives and working with communities and counties to develop
economic development strategies and comprehensive plans.
The applicant should have knowledge and
practice in: economic development planning, comprehensive planning,
revolving loan fund lending, grant writing, federal, state and private
sector economic development programs and assisting counties, cities,
villages and towns on planning and economic development issues. The position
requires occasional attendance at night meetings and travel. Applicants must
possess or have a valid Driver’s license and agree to take and pass a drug
test as a condition of employment.
The
annual salary for this full-time position is $37,000 to $44,161 and includes
an excellent benefit package including health insurance, life insurance, and
Wisconsin Retirement. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s or
preferably a Master’s degree in a Major such as public administration,
business administration, finance, economics, geography, urban and regional
planning. A minimum of two years work experience related to one or more of
the duties of this position is also preferred.
