Harbor Centre Business Improvement District (BID) Manager

Sheboygan, WI


JOB SUMMARY


This position, Business Improvement District (BID) Manager , creates new alliances and introduces new funding opportunities to support the process of downtown redevelopment. BID funds underwrite the cost of Main Street programs, support large-scale streetscape improvement projects, pay for program employees and projects, as well as support special events and other types of promotional programs for the Downtown, South Pier and Riverfront areas. This position is also responsible for the Employee Discount Program which is supported by the businesses.

The BID is looking for a motivated, self starting Go Getter, good communication skills, energetic, smart, and personable. Individual should be well rounded to make the job and the BID successful.


DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Coordinates the advertising for the Navigation Guide for the Sheboygan areas

Keeps financial records and work with the auditing firms CPA.

Upgrades computer system and increase productivity of processes

Organizes meetings with merchants and implement on-line advertising

Responsible for following the Sheboygan BID Mission Statement

Plan/carry out/support local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organized marketing activities, eg, promotions, advertising, and exhibitions to give vibrancy to the BID

Attendance at the City Planning Committee meetings

Maintain a close relationship with the Redevelopment Authority and attend meetings if needed.

Responsible for Economic Development, both business recruitment and retention

Communication with BID merchants and landlords


OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Marketing, advertising and area promotion planning

2. Sales organization planning and development

3. Community Business planning

4. Launch and implement website information

5. Recruitment of tourism (advertising)

6. Communication and liaison for retail merchants

7. Area development

8. Events coordinator

9. Record, analyze, report and administer according to systems and requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in retailing. marketing, and/or tourism is preferred (3-5 years experience).

Up-to-date in computer skills, such as: Microsoft Office, Website operation, advertising on-line, etc.

Must be able to manage time in a fast-paced environment

Out-going personality with excellent communication skills

Strong oral/written communication skills in English is preferred REQUIRED

Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Communications and/or Marketing with a background in Finance or equivalent work experience.

Preferred experience in IT.

Website design is a plus.

Valid Wisconsin Drivers License

Must successfully pass a Physical and drug test

Salary Range: $30,000 to $40,000 annually
